Assembly

The luminaire arrives ready for installation and can be set up straight away. The LEDs are permanently integrated into the light so that no additional light sources are required. After unpacking, the light can be installed and put into operation immediately - simply connect and enjoy. You can find the installation instructions under "Instructions" - they are available for download there.

Switching on and off

The light can be switched on and off using the light switch.

Dimming

The lamp is TRIAC dimmable (i.e. via a TRIAC wall dimmer). The lamp can be dimmed using both leading-edge and trailing-edge phase control. Use either a dimmer marked with the symbols R or L (for leading edge) on the packaging or with the symbol C (for trailing edge). We recommend choosing a universal dimmer suitable for both leading-edge (R, L) and trailing-edge (C) dimming to ensure maximum flexibility and compatibility. Such a dimmer is usually marked with R, L and C.

ALAIA – Design, dimensions and light quality

ALAIA is a height-adjustable ceiling light with permanently integrated LED technology for warm white light.

At 2700 K it creates a warm lighting mood and reaches a brightness of 4500 lumens. The total output is 40 W LED.

Glass, aluminium, iron and acrylic make up the material mix. The 180 cm cable is continuously adjustable, allowing the height of the light to be adapted to the room.

The ceiling light is suited to design-conscious living spaces where a clear, modern lighting solution is wanted. The LEDs are designed to be energy-saving and have a service life of over 30,000 hours. ALAIA is continuously dimmable via TRIAC straight from the factory.

FAQ

1 How can the length of the ropes be adjusted?

At the ceiling mount and at the cable holders, each suspension wire is guided through a small locking pin. Press the pin in with one finger while pulling on the suspension wire with your other hand, or feeding the wire back into the housing, to change the hanging height of the lamp. Thanks to this mechanism, you can still adjust the hanging height even after the lamp has already been installed.

2 Are the light sources included in the delivery?

Yes! The lamp comes with built-in LEDs and is ready to use right away. You don't need to buy any additional bulbs – you can simply mount the lamp and start using it. The LEDs have a very long lifespan of over 50,000 hours and are covered by our 3-year warranty.

3 Are the light sources replaceable?

The high-quality LEDs are permanently installed in the lamp. In our experience, however, it is usually the transformers rather than the LEDs themselves that are affected by defects in LED lamps. These can generally be replaced quickly. If you ever have any problems with this, we will of course be happy to help you.

4 Is the ALAIA SmartHome capable?

The light is not smart home compatible as standard. Integration into a suitable smart home system is generally possible, but requires replacing the installed LED driver (transformer) with an LED driver that is compatible with the respective smart home system.

The new LED driver must meet the electrical and technical requirements of the light as well as the output values of the originally installed driver.

Important: The LEDs of the light are operated with constant current. The smart home driver used must therefore be explicitly suitable for constant-current LEDs. Constant-voltage drivers are not compatible and must not be used.

5 Are small bubbles or irregularities in the glass a quality defect?

Each of our glass elements is manufactured in a high-temperature molding process and mouth-blown. This gives the bubbles their beautiful shape and creates a truly unique piece that makes every Alaia something special! Small bubbles or fine air pockets may occur - they are a typical feature of genuine handcraft and emphasize the uniqueness of each lamp. They are not a quality defect and do not affect the beauty or function of the product.

6 Is there a money-back guarantee?

You have a 30-day right of return with us.

Return policy: In the event of a complaint, we of course cover the return costs for you and refund the full amount.

As we are a young, self-funded company and already bear the shipping costs to you, we unfortunately cannot also cover the costs of a regular return. If you send your lamps back within 30 days, you will therefore receive the refund amount minus the return shipping costs.

For a stress-free return process, you can simply register your return through our returns portal. There you can keep track of the current status of your return at any time.

7 Can the ALAIA TRIAC be dimmed?

Yes. The Alaia is TRIAC dimmable, i.e. it can be dimmed with a wall dimmer switch. The light can be dimmed using either leading-edge or trailing-edge dimming.
