Types of table lamps for the desk:

Reading lamps: for relaxed or focused reading sessions

Reading lamps are characterized by glare-free, intense light. Thanks to their swiveling neck, you can aim the light precisely at your book and protect your eyes.

Depending on your needs: for focused studying or for relaxed reading. An example from the NEONA range is the LIVA table lamp, which scores with its minimalist design and the high-quality glass sphere.

Desk lamps: optimal light for focused work

A good desk lamp provides a bright, even light that stays pleasant even over long work sessions. Modern models offer innovative features, such as:

LED technology for energy efficiency and long lifespan
Dimming and color temperature switching (e.g. warm white for relaxed phases and neutral white for focused work)

Desk lamps with innovative features

Many modern models, such as the NOVA table lamp, offer functions like cordless battery operation or convenient touch and dimming functions – ideal for flexible uses.

Decorative lamps: set stylish accents with designer desk lamps

Decorative lamps are real eye-catchers that impress with extravagant shapes and special materials. They can be used both as a primary light source and as a decorative element. They are ideal for the living room or the office, serving as a statement piece .

Here, the LUMIO table lamp stands out – a retro-style designer piece that impresses both functionally and visually. Or the extravagant HERA table lamp, which draws all eyes as a decorative object and visually upgrades and illuminates functional office furniture.

Indirect desk lighting: a pleasant atmosphere for the eyes

Indirect light sources create a soft, atmospheric light while emphasizing the ambiance of the room. Desk lamps with indirect light reduce glare and can be used as an atmospheric accent in any room. That way you at least still have an atmospheric lighting mood when you have to sit at your desk for longer.

Which are the ideal desk lamps? - What to look for when buying

Choosing the right desk lamps depends on several factors.

Here are the most important criteria:

Area of use

Description: Consider whether you mainly need the light for reading, working or decoration.

Size of the workspace

Description: The desk lamp should be proportionate to the area to be lit – small models for tight workspaces, larger ones for plenty of space.

Existing room lighting

Description: Match the light intensity of the table lamp to the light sources that are already there.

Personal style and design

Description: Whether modern, minimalist or industrial – choose a lamp that suits your furnishings.

Size of the workspace

Make sure the dimensions of the lamp suit your workspace . Small desks often call for smaller table lamps, while larger work areas benefit from a wide-reaching light cone that can be swiveled and aimed precisely.

Existing room lighting

Make sure that the light of the table lamp is harmoniously integrated into your room – light that is too glaring can be disturbing, while light that is too weak is rarely enough to stay productive. That is why a dimming function is so practical, too. Combining it with other light sources (e.g. ceiling or wall lamps) rounds off the lighting concept.

Personal style and furnishings

Your individual living style plays a decisive role. At NEONA you will find modern, minimalist, elegant as well as extravagant and industrial-inspired table lamps.

Innovative features of modern desk lamps

Modern desk lamps offer far more than just bright light: they often come with innovative features that make your everyday life easier.

Desk lamps for more comfort and flexibility

Smart desk lamps let you adjust the light intensity and color temperature via app, touch sensor or remote control. This way you can create the optimal lighting mood tailored to every situation. Battery-powered desk lamps like the NOVA table lamp come, for example, with integrated battery technology and cordless operation.

Light modes: the right lighting for every situation

Many of our LED desk lamps are dimmable. This lets you set the ideal brightness for work, relaxation or reading time. This is particularly important to ensure long-term eye-friendly light.

Selected materials and design: perfectly matched to your style

Desk lamps at NEONA stand out for their high-quality materials such as premium metal or fine glass. Whether you prefer a modern, minimalist design or an extravagant statement – the selection is large.

Cool desk lamps made of metal

Metal lamps offer timeless elegance and high stability. They are robust and fit perfectly into industrial or modern interior styles.

Transparent glass desk lamps

Glass lamps impress with their elegant look and special light-refraction effects. They create a transparent, elegant look that really comes into its own in modern rooms.

Eye-friendly light for your well-being

Appropriate lighting can help to strain the eyes less and support your concentration, although other individual factors also play a role.

The right positioning

Lighting from the side or from behind can help avoid direct glare, which may under certain circumstances reduce visual fatigue.

Sufficient illumination level

For focused work, 300 to 500 lux should ideally be available – this way you can usually work for long and without fatigue.

Modern desk lamps: functionality, sustainability and design

Current trends show that, besides functionality, smart features are becoming more and more important. Many manufacturers rely on energy-efficient LED technology and modern materials.

Sustainable materials

Forward-looking desk lamps are increasingly made from sustainable materials that last a long time and also have the lowest possible power consumption – a plus for the environment and your wallet.

Stylish design

Clean, reduced shapes - that is the motto of purist, timeless design. If you love minimalist elegance or the Scandi style, you'll find exactly the right lamp for your workspace with us.
